Service was very attentive and courteous, but not intrusive. A party of 10 sampled almost everything on the menu, and the sea urchin, ceviche, and trucha were excellent! It was served on huge boats and everything tasted freshly caught. Atmosphere is festive, fun, and upscale. We came for lunch. Be sure to make reservations at this place as it is quite busy.
Great seafood options, eclectic and interesting menu, good service, comfortable setting. Their specialities are cebiche and tiradito but they have many other dishes and every one is excellent. I’ve been here maybe a dozen times and have sampled many dishes. It does get busy and they do not accept reservations.
Any of their incredible ceviches and a pisco sour will brighten the darkest of days. Deeply satisfying
We went there because of the good reviews both here and on TripAdvisor but my experience was nothing like the reviews. This place is too hyped up. The shellfish we had was still cold inside and tasted sandy. The seafood rice was way too salty. We complained to the waiter but he just smiled and did nothing. The ratio of money spent to tastiness was so extremely low. I honestly don't understand why people give this restaurant good reviews. The majority of the customers were tourists like us. Watch out.
I love La Mar. Fresh fish and fresh seafood, an inspired combination of traditional dishes with more modern interpretations. Delicious combination of flavors. And the best part is La Mar in Lima has more variety and options than La Mar in San Francisco. And better prices too.
