I was thrilled to discover this restaurant while visiting Santiago! The owners were incredibly welcoming and when I mentioned that I was vegan, they provided me with a wide variety of meal options to choose from. They even offer pizza with vegan cheese! I decided to try the lentil burger, which was tasty, but I felt it was a bit pricey for what it was. View all feedback.
This small place is the perfect midday place. the owners are great, and they have really tried to meet the vegetarians. if they are in santiago atitlan, they don't miss it. in the last few years, since I have eaten there, they have added several vegan options. my favorites are the taco salad with tofu (to have made it vegan), and the auberginen torta. they also have an excellent veggie burger. wash it all with some of their homemade ginger ale. the service is excellent (not too often here), and eating is very fresh. they have a small load with a series of homemade jams, pickles, relish, drip butter and some of the best hot sauces around.

This small restaurant in Santiago may not be as vegan-friendly as some reviewers suggest, but it is still one of the best dining options in the city. I enjoyed nachos with guacamole and a delicious veggie burrito with fried tofu. Just be sure to clearly communicate your dietary needs to the owner, as the menu may not initially appear very vegetarian-friendly. The ambiance of the restaurant is lovely and the location is easy to find, near Bambu. The owner is friendly and there are some nice products available as well. Overall, a recommended dining experience.
I was worried about sticking to my diet in Guatemala, but Las Lagartijas in Santiago Atitlan saved the day. They were incredibly accommodating and even helped answer any questions I had. I felt safe eating raw fruits and vegetables there, as they take extra precautions with their preparation. Las Lagartijas offers traditional as well as unique menu options.
Nice spot. I did not find it quite as vegan-friendly as the last two reviewers, but it is still one of the best options in santiago. had some nachos with guacamole and a very tasty veggie burrito with fried tofu. Just make sure to explain to the owner clearly what they need and they will offer them; look at the menu, it becomes like a fleshy place as it really is. the setting is really very nice. they will not be of the vagen address, easy to walk bambu and you will see it on the right side. friendly owner and some nice products also recommended!
