Reviews - Clark's
Reviews summary
Clark's Restaurant offers a mixed dining experience that has drawn both praise and criticism from patrons. While many guests celebrate the warm atmosphere, outstanding service, and delectable dishes like fried green tomatoes and southern-style shrimp and grits, others lament bland food and inconsistent service that feel out of place for the prices charged. Diners appreciate the cozy bar and the nostalgic decor, which create a welcoming environment post-travel. Despite some service hiccups and complaints about specific menu items, Clark's remains a favored stop for those journeying along I-95, often recommended over traditional chain eateries.

Food was outstanding. No one in our group of 6 had anything bad to say, it was all great. Wonderful service. Ribeye was tender, salmon seasoned perfectly, delicious veggie casserole, burgers were juicy, fries were crispy, chicken came right off the bone.We will be going back.
We had a great lunch. The tomato soup, as well as the shrimp and corn chowder were unbelievable. Both homemade. The sandwiches were the best. I recommend the half sandwich and soup dish. Strongly recommend Clark's.
Great home style food. Stopped in the area for the night on the way back from Disney and wanted to try some local southern fair. The chicken was super juicy and tender with good flavor. The chicken Alfredo was super delicious and was a different stylethan I?m used to with broccoli and mushrooms. The fried green tomatoes were super professional. I?ve never had fried greentomatoes so I have nothing to compare but they were awesome. Crispy on the outside and really Flavorful with the dipping sauces. The place is super old school and has a homey casual feel. I would have loved to eat in the restaurant but with 2 kids sittingin the car for 6 hours that wasn?t happening. Totally recommend for some good food if in the area.
Fairly standard fair for lunch but the soups were delicious. Very slow service considering the light traffic. Beautiful building, atmosphere.
Stumbled upon Clarks Restaurant while business traveling and meetin in Santee, SC. Outanding atmosphere in this throwback classic restaurant and outstanding food could not overcome the terrible table service. Place was slow and we waited over a halfhour for simple appetizers. The liver and onionmain course were outstanding, but, after waiting 15 minutes i had to have thefront desk hunt down my server to pay my bill. Maybe an off night for the service team???

We're traveling through the Carolina's and look up on Google for a good resturant, it was a Sunday and they had a special Sunday menu, not the full menu. They should post something on the website to let people know its not the full menu. The food and service was still very good. Service: Dine in Meal type: Lunch

First time going here was very please. I had the chicken alfredo and the sauce was great. A lot of times it's bland but that was not the case. Husband had hamburger and fries. It was cooked perfect fries crispy very pleased will be back. They don't have salt and pepper shakers on the table and I see why we didn't need it.
Food was excellent. No one in our group of 6 had something bad to say, it was all great. Wonderful service. Ribeye was tender, salmon perfectly seasoned, delicious veggie casserole, burgers were juicy, pumice crispy, chicken came directly from the bone. We're going back.
COMMITTEE Service from our server, Marc! He was attentive, polite and made great menu recommendations. The food was very delicious, especially the Low Country Stir Fry and the Fried Chicken. The apple cake was also very good. Loves the way this restaurant has the feeling of a mountain resort. It is quite cozy and incredibly clean (also the bathrooms are immaculate). The staff is amazingly warm, friendly, helpful. And don't forget to stay at the gift shop. It is a large shop jam with beautiful drinkingets, toys, books, purses, scarves, kitchen utensils, dishes, gifts, babies, house decoration, throwing, candles, dish towels, holiday decorations, etc. Next time we're back.
We were on our way to Cracker Barrel when we stumbled upon this lovely restaurant and inn. We decided to stop in for dinner and were pleasantly surprised. While we waited, we spent time exploring the gift shop, which was a nice distraction. The restaurant was clearly busy, but the staff was incredibly friendly and attentive, making our experience even better. Kudos to everyone working on this Sunday after Christmas; it must have been a hectic night with so many travelers passing through! The food was delicious; my only regret is that we didn't have room for dessert, as the selection looked amazing!
Sometimes chicken can be pretty ordinary, but at Clark's, you know exactly what to expect. It's a reliable choice. The roasted chicken here was INCREDIBLE—so tender it practically falls off the bone and melts in your mouth. This is chicken I'll remember for a long time. Truly exceptional. If you find yourself passing by, the roasted chicken is definitely worth the wait.
