Quinta Do Furao - Santana

This is a omni restaurant, part of the hotel with the same name. But they are aware of vegan cuisine and have really good dishes. We were at the hotel, so it was easier for us to eat here every night, but we also loved the food. I don't give 5 stars because it's not a vegan place. My partner had the mushroom burger, w/o cheese and it was massive, in proper bread instead of a bread. It came with chips with garden herbs and salad, and we said we could change sides to rice or vegetables. I had the espetada in addition) with again chips and salad, but it also came with polnta cubes. So delicious. I had it both times that we were there ANNEX It was gluten-free also 2. It was so delicious. Last night we ordered desserts that were also delicious. Just what you need after a long hike. The net was so bad at 15€. The baked desert was expensive, 9€, but they made it to order.

The food is amazing. Just the “meat” Espetada should be less “next level burger” vibes.

We had a great vegan meal at this restaurant which was a complete joy on an island where it is otherwise quite tricky to eat vegan. The food was delicious and there were multiple options (including a burger, risotto) and there was a stunning vegan chocolate baked dessert which was such a treat! The service was good and the views over the sea were beautiful. Highly recommend!
