Is it the worst restaurant in the world? No, but I 'll forget about this in a matter of minutes. It baffles me that tour operators take you on a trip to show off the beauty of the island and then stop at this restaurant which is mediocre in every way. Food isn 't fresh, vegetables frozen and over cooked. Steak is cooked well done and generally needs season. It 's a shame knowing that other places offer a much better... View all feedback.
Just finished a great walk and decided to pop in for a coffee. We sat on the terrace where we had lovely views over the valley and hills in the distance. Very friendly waitress and quick service. The coffee was very good.
We were on an all day excursion with Safari Madeira 4x4 tours and the lunch was included for an extra 10 euros each. We normally avoid Pre planned lunches when on tours, but our guide Lino said we would not be disappointed. There were 6 of us in our group and we stopped at the Curtado for a full hour. The lady serving us was lovely, and for 10 euros each we had home made cabbage soup, the choice of a meat or fish main course, home made dessert, coffee and a bottle of white and red wine all included. The food was lovely and it is a very pretty site. We passed several places who were also serving lunches to tour groups, but they all looked very busy, I am really glad e went to the Curtado, lovely place.
Had an included lunch here on a jeep safari. good tasty 3 course lunch with plenty of wine included, friendly staff and all was ready for us on arrival. Enjoyed it
We dropped in here when taking the high road from Faial to Santana and got hungry because of all our small stops to grasp the fantastic views on the Way from Ribeiro Frio. We honestly didn 't expect much but were glad to get anything to eat, but we were surprised by very quck and friendy staff, fantastic food (scabbardfish and beef steak o curtado and very nice weather! Although the restaurant can 't take the credit for the latter, the remaining points were very helpful in taking a rest and enjoy the view. Why only 4 out of 5 points? Some things which seem to be very common in madeiran restaurants: Side dishes were okay, but nothing special, and the choice of drinks is limited as well. But anyway, I would recommend this place for everyone who is going around that part of the Island and is looking for a quick but good place to eat!
