This is an absolute gem! I almost had tears in my eyes when we left. It was one of the rare moments, I experienced food like at home while eating at a restaurant. It felt like my mother, my aunt or my grandmother could have cooked the food we had. In fact, there is only one woman in the kitchen and I guess her son is taking care of the guests and the service. Absolutely unbelievable! This authenticity, these marvelous tastes, it was almost surreal. Although the family of my father originally is from the south of Italy and dishes therefore differ from what is usually served in the north, it was not difficult to identify the main ingredients used to produce this amazing result: Good regional products, knowledgeably handled and a lot of love for the guests sitting at the table. Make no mistake: If you are looking for Micheline/ Gault Millau style food, you will potentially be disappointed. This is not an expensive, luxurious experience. It’s much better: It’s the real thing.
We returned to this lovely traditional italian restaurant because we knew we would get a good traditional Italian meal at a reasonable price. It was again lovely. A bit busy on the second night but worth the wait !
Very basic settings, don't come here for a fancy dining experience but if you'll find great quality piemontese food. Everything looks basic, even slightly unexciting in the plate but is full of flavours to the palate. Family business. Strange menu, half German, half English and no prices. But the bill was very decent, 55 euros for a family of 4 with 2 courses each excluding wine. There is a 4 course meal available also for 30 euros. Wine available by the glass at 3 euros. Barbaresco and Barolo only by the bottle, the 2005 Barolo fron Enzo Boglietti added 35 euros to the bill but was fantastic.
If you look for authentic, italian kitchen and hospitality you are at the right place here.. we spontanously went here for dinner at sunday evening (lots of places are closed on sunday evenings in italy and were surprised.. the ambiente is quite rustical, we were alone in the restaurant. with each having 2x dishes desserts and coffee we paid 95 euros the owner offered us a free limoncello after our tip of 6 euros (she couldnt accept it otherwise the food was basic but very very tasty. the house wine was great for what we paid and every other wine on the card was cheap aswell (most expensive one being 45 euros, but most in the 15 20 euro area if you’re looking for a simple, sympathetic and authentic piemontese restaurant, you have found your place to eat. totally recommended!
We loved our meals at this simple, unassuming and extremely welcoming osteria. Daily options, and happy to swop and adapt their offers to whatever you fancy. Generous service, high quality ingredients beautifully prepared.
