Applebee's Grill - Santa Maria

I hadn't visited this restaurant in a while, but it was fantastic! Our waiter Rob was excellent, with a very upbeat and funny attitude. The full rack of BBQ ribs was absolutely delicious, moist and tender with plenty of sauce. Make sure to ask for lots of napkins. The mashed potatoes were also very tasty. Overall, great food and service.

I have never had such a terrible experience at a restaurant before. When we arrived, there was only one table occupied and only the bartender was there. She was very unfriendly. We waited for the hostess, who didn't seem rude but also didn't seem interested in her job. Our waitress, on the other hand, was very friendly and accommodating. I ordered the steak and shrimp with loaded mashed potatoes and broccoli. I asked for it to be cooked medium rare, but the steak came out well done. When it was sent back, it came out even more well done, so I didn't bother sending it back again. The broccoli was bland and under-seasoned, and the mashed potatoes were cold. The shrimp was average, but left a bad taste in my mouth and I felt sick after eating them. My husband ordered the salmon and shrimp, but the salmon was very fishy and seemed spoiled in the middle. He had to spit it out after the first bite. His meal was also cold. The only person who enjoyed their meal was my son, who had the cheese pizza and applesauce. We were very disappointed and ended up spending over $100 on a terrible meal that we barely ate.

The only hilight for my birthday meal was our server.. The raspberry tea was nasty tasting, I ordered riblet with mashed potatoes. The potatoes had NO flavor! I added so much salt/pepper the riblets were funky also I brought it home for my dog. I didn't send it back because the two for 26$ menu had a burger I could order, but hubby ordered that, it was dripping and oozing oily grease..

Great service from Laura, She awesome.. the place was clean and the staff were polite.. I recommend this Applebee's location to all.
