Contribute Feedback What Manuel Harris doesn't like about Makai Island Kitchen Groggery:
If you 're local visiting from the Islands, don 't expect too much. I had the Loco moco. The rice was Jasmin and was too watery. The gravy was thin. Cannot mess up the burger and egg. I ordered the Mac salad. I think they used Miracle Whip, not Best Foods. Couldn 't finish it. The revolving floor was a trip, though! I think it goes around once every 30 min. Kinda like the La Ronde at Ala Moana. View all feedback.
Nice rotating bar inside on the Santa Cruz Pier. Cocktails great. Just a really long wait even though there wasn't that much going on. Parking: Parking possible directly on the pier. Very crowded though.
Great theming right on the pier. Family friendly with a kids menu which is hard to find with tiki bars. Outdoor seating is available with heaters for cooler nights. Views were amazing looking across the bay to the lighthouse. Food and drinks were as good as the decor and location. Also for tiki mug collectors, they have several unique mugs branded with their name. I had to pick up the Bonzer mug which has the lighthouse as part of the mug. Great place, highly recommend for a night out with or without the kids. Dietary restrictions: Gluten free marked on the menu.
Food and drinks were great. Atmosphere was amazing for a late Sunday afternoon.Service was a bit slow. Not sure it was the waitress fault tho. Already eating meal when I finally got to ask for napkin and cutlery. Also they they werenout of some of the specialty mugs for the special drinks as listed on the drink menu. Waitress was very polite and apologized for this and was all around very sweet. All in all a great early dinner in the sunshine ?.
This was our first time here and will be our go to place whenever we visit santa cruz boardwalk. the restaurant is beautifully decorated and the rotating bar was an added bonus. This restaurant have great views of the ocean as well. The food was also amazing! Fresh and delicious!Thank you Ginger for taking care of us! Parking: paid parking but its cheap. we paid $2 for about 2.5hrs of stay. Kid-friendliness: they had crayons and a worksheet. the rotating bar is also entertaining
My kids were happy and I can't complain about anything last time I was here it was a different name, I recognized the turn table bar area.Edit: came back right months later, was good ordered a bunch of different things
