Pain in the ! I... I was a pain....but the owner was so honest and still mad Amy Turkish coffee ice cream. What can I say, not as it should be, but I had serious hot flashes and everything I wanted was her coffee while in town. Her falafels are sooo good, boy loved the pommes. Thank you! What User doesn't like about Falafel Of Santa Cruz:
The restaurant was the last thing I had expected. The staff is unprofessional, the food is cooked poorly, and is very expensive for what it is. The restaurant needs to be cleaned, I would let this slide if you are a Waffle House, but you are not. Waffle House gets a slide due to if it is clean the food must suck. One last thing they only take cash or check! This is commonplace in the some parts of the United States l... View all feedback.
Fresh and Hearty Sautéed Veggie Plate-Lots to choose from on the Mediterranean Menu of Classics and Combos to mix and match sides and dishes.Fresh and Homemade tastingThe assorted veggies were sautéed nicely and served over rice. The dish had hummus or baba ghanoush choice for side. I chose hummus and it was delicious. Also a nice side salad with zesty vinaigrette.Check out the photos. Nice size for lunch. Also had a Tropical Yerba Mate This is a gr8 location to pull up for a healthy meal. On Mission Street easy corner spot to get to. Plenty of parking on the side street
I have gone to this spot my whole life and it is truly one of the best casual eateries in town. I was really disappointed by my visit this time. Placed an order for pick up, and despite waiting a few minutes in the shop for my order to be ready everything was cold when I got home 5 minutes later. I ordered a small falafel sandwich which is my go to order, and it was much smaller than usual and assembled sloppily. The pita was smashed and ripped, which made it difficult to eat. I’m hoping things will improve next time, since this is one of my favorite spots.
The food here is incredible! I live almost 2 hours away and often make the trip just for their falafel sandwich. I have yet to find Mediterranean food or falafel closer to home that lives up to this caliber! Highly recommend.
Nothing fancy about this place. The food was fine but not great. I watched them pull my falafels from a frozen food bag, so I'm not sure what is made in-house vs purchased pre-made. The tabouli and babaganoush were good. The chicken shawarma was fine, but no great flavors jump out you.I do want to say the staff was very friendly and the baklava was really tasty! The building has probably been around 30+ years and looks it, but the eating area was clean.Remember to bring cash because they don't accept credit cards. There is an ATM machine inside, tho.Parking: I think there is a small parking area somewhere in the back. But we were lucky to find a spot in front of the place nextdoor.
Falafel of Santa Cruz is one of the best spots in town when it comes to Mediterranean cuisine. There are a handful of similar places but I've always enjoyed the consistently high quality food that they produce. It's all about their vegan falafel plates. While listed as vegetarian, they are able to veganize it so that you can enjoy this hearty plate of goodness. Hummus, baba ganoush, falafel, and greens accompany your slices of pita, and is well worth it. What really shines has been their catering service. I've ordered from them for multiple events and each time, Sam and his team have been on the ball in setting up our orders, making suggestions, coordinating deliveries, and even serving if it's a larger party. The food is always delivered on time, fresh, and has always been a hit with our attendees.
