I tried this food truck once on Science Hill at UCSC. The food was fresh and with a nice flavor! Although it was not as authentic since I ordered the paneer tikka masala bowl it was still better than I expected. I would return here to try other foods! The wait was moderate and customer service was friendly. View all feedback.

I would like to thank Cruz N Gourmet and the local farmers for providing free, delicious and abundant meals to the senior citizen community. I forwarded their info to a dear friend of mine and she received her first delivery yesterday. She hasn't been out for 3 weeks and was so surprised to receive such a huge amount of food. It is definitely enough to carry her through until next week. She received mushroom soup, minestrone soup, 2 meals of turkey and brussel sprouts, fruit and a couple of other things (can't remember). She is very thankful as am I knowing that she is safe and eating healthy, local food. Thank you so much for your dedication to the senior citizen community during these stressful times.
I'm confused why there are so many 5* reviews of this place. Or maybe it was my own error ordering the Tri-Tip Taco. The meat was good, but was overwhelmed by shredded lettuce and steamed white rice. This may be my fault in assuming a taco would have Mexican rice, but, yes, they use the same white rice served alongside their curries, in the taco. Eaten with the shredded lettuce it was incredibly disgusting and I could not finish it (the rice was a little wet and sticky/mushy; not firm. Probably ok for an Asian dish but not in a taco). I also felt it was overpriced at almost $9 for mostly white rice and cold lettuce. The sauce was not enough to hide the overwhelming blandness of that combination. I hate wasting food but I had no choice but to throw it away only half eaten, and the portions are pretty small for what you pay. If I have no food options other than this place, I'll just have to try their curry, which others on yelp seem to like. However, I originally avoided the curry after seeing others order it; it looked like it was all watery sauce. Hoping it tastes better than it looks... I've eaten at many food trucks (all different cuisines and fusion) not in Santa Cruz, and this was my worst experience.
Really solid food truck right outside Baskins on campus that really knows how to cater to the students. I even dare to say that it even beats out a lot of the eateries on campus in terms of quality and taste! Cruz N Gourmet specialize in some quick fixing Asian/Mexican options via rice bowls and tacos. Most of the entrees are $9 and are already prepared in the truck ready to be assembled to your liking. Items include their Chicken Penang Curry (which I ordered) and a Tri-Tip Salad Bowl, which was essentially greens with diced pieces of meat on top. My curry rice bowl was definitely satisfying since I was craving some coconut milk goodness. The curry didn't necessarily blow me away in quality though and the flavors didn't wow me. I felt it was a bit watered down and fairly simple. However, for a food truck on campus that even offers such an option, I was good with my decision. Service in the truck was quick and nice and they also accept card, which is a huge plus. Worth a try if you're tired of the food around campus.
I tried this place for the first time after seeing it on campus multiple times A few things I appreciate about this food truck is how friendly the staff is and that they takes card. I ordered the traditional vegetable curry rice bowl, and it is delicious!! The dish has a mix of cauliflower, carrots, green beans, and peas. The only thing I would ask is for the curry to be a little less sweet and for a little more cauliflower. There seems to be a lot of every veggies except for cauliflower (I only got two small pieces Overall, I'm glad I found a place I can get some good curry rice bowls and would love to try this place again :
