What Larry L doesn't like about Burger. Santa Cruz:
Omg this place sucks so bad. The cheeseburger tastes like a sweaty man squeezed his sweaty armpit hair over ground beef and slapped some weird cheese over it and an untoasted bun. Fries ok though so if u like really crunchy fries and sweaty man beef I think you'd love it here. View all feedback.
Food was OK, on the expensive side. They have you scan a QR code to get the menu, but it doesn't have prices listed so be prepared for a sticker shock when you get your total. I ordered the Mike D (which is a vegetarian black bean patty), coleslaw and lemonade. The lemonade is house made but I think they forgot the sugar because it was so sour I got heartburn after two sips ?. Coleslaw was meh, the burger was OK, if overcooked. Cost for my meal alone was about $18. The total for three meals and a side of slug fries (fries covered in grilled onions and special sauce) was about $75, $88 with tip. Ouch! ???. Honestly, it's a little pretentious burger shop in the middle of Santa Cruz. I've had better at the local Mr. Frosty's in my old hometown in Nor Cal.
So...don?t know what to do from this place, but I think the bartender has shaken me. I ordered a Mexican Elvis that specified the $11 menu, but he charged me $16. I asked him why and he gave me so long excuse that I thought what you really need the money! Regardless of this, the drink was not good and I do not recommend it, nor the food. Service??? Not good.
This place looked promising. Creative burgers, fun atmosphere. Unfortunately, the burgers were really bad for $15 burgers, strongly salted, dry and bland. McDonalds tastes better. Looks like it's better than a bar than a burger place. The sliders tasted quite good; not worth the price and also salty, but the meat was not so gumy and dry.
Have stayed in Santa Cruz for about 4 years. But it is my first time to try Burger. Tasted good and really came with huge amount. Will be good to come back and try other choices.
Looking for a new spot to eat before the long drive home. The add of meatless Monday?s peaked my wife?s interest. I had the pink burger (salmon burger) and onion rings, my wife had a burger with an impossible patty, and the kids (again) opted for Mac and cheese. The onion rings were awesome (bear battered) and so were the burgers. The mac and cheese had Gouda so the kids were not tho thrilled with it.
