I came here for Valentine's Day and had a great time! From the music selection to the food to the wine pairings. Everything was perfect. Their entire Valentine's Day special menu had just the right variety for any food lover. Btw, the Wagyu steak was absolutely amazing! The cost was on the higher end, but was worth every penny. Thanks for an awesome time! P.S. Go Niners!! View all feedback.
What David doesn't like about Bourbon Steak Santa Clara:
Service was very good, but the food was more about sounding good then actually tasting good. Smoked burratta sounds great but the taste was quite off putting. The lobster pot pie should not be a speciality here or anywhere. Just not a great experience and we eat at a lot of very nice restaurants. We wouldn’t come back when in the area. View all feedback.
Food, excellent. Service, first class. Table lighting awful; having to use the phone flashlight to read the menu. Menu font sizes was fine, but the ambient lighting was so dim, nearly impossible to read without the use of the phone flashlight. I understand setting the ‘ambience’, but the light level!
Unfortunately we went two days after the 49ers Super Bowl and they were out of several items and 5 out of 5 of our $100 medium rare steaks were cooked medium-well. Not a good showing for the restaurant and $900+ bill.
This place isn't cheap, you aren't getting out of here for less than $150 per head and that assumes you are very careful on the wine. BUT, the steaks are really great! The wine list is impressive if not very high end; many many bottles over $1500. So if you are trying to stay below some number relative to gifts or policy you need to pay some attention. Our servers appeared to be having a tough day. She was forgetful and a bit scattered but very polite and got everything to us. I would definitively go back and would even consider taking the wife here on a date night. John
I've been a HUGE fan of the D.C. Bourbon Steak for about 8 years now and go there every time I'm in town. I was in Santa Clara this past week and needed a place for dinner on Thursday night so I was quite excited when I saw that there was a Bourdon Steak in the Forty Niner stadium. The meal started off great with the trio of flavored duck fat fries and dipping sauces which were as good as ever. Unfortunately, that's where the goodness stopped. I ordered my favorite ribeye and truffle mac n'cheese. The ribeye in D.C. is probably one of the best that I've ever had in my life. This one, was one of the most average ones I've ever had. No flavor, rather tough, just blah. The mac n'cheese tasted like something out of a box and I think they might've forgotten to put the truffle oil in as I sure didn't taste it. What a disappointing meal when I had such high expectations. The one highlight of the evening was the service which was fantastic. Kudos to the service staff there. I hope Mr. Mina checks in on them and rights the ship or else they won't be open much longer. Looking forward to my next trip back to the Bourbon Steak in D.C.
