Absolutely delicious! My son and I had the shrimp plate and it was SO Good!! Rice, veggies, and a ton of shrimp all with 2 fresh salsas on the side. Some of the best Mexican I’ve had in a long time! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Super Cuca's Taqueria:
All the food here was really nasty. No flavor at all, the chips were soggy, the burrito was mostly plain rice, and the agua fresca was just Inca cola. Soooo disappointing View all feedback.
I don 't know how I missed trying this place for so long. It is sort of a hidden gem, so maybe that 's my excuse. It isn 't often that a hidden gem keeps winning Best Of awards year after year, especially in a foodie town like Santa Barbara. Super Cucas has a long, well-earned, string of those Best Ofs. My fiance had beef enchiladas and loved them. I went with the shrimp super plate and it was simple but perfect. Rice, grilled fresh vegetables, and grilled shrimp. Absolutely delicious. The service was friendly, the prices are great, and you can even buy all of the ingredients to take home from their market and make your own creation. It 's a winner.
It was just ok. The Al Padtor pork burrito I got had 2 or 3 lumps of fat I could bear eating in it, and more rice than I like. I didn't realize it was also a butcher shop& a partial market inside also. I liked that there were booths to sit in outside.
Large selection of vegan burritos? As big or bigger than Chipotle, very shareable for two. Lovely laid back outdoor eating, and parking in the back.
One of my goto spots. Like, I probably eat here more than any other place in town! Nachos (super), Tortas, and combo plates are the ish and I 've been really been into the SUPER COMBO PLATE lately. Just gotta make sure they throw the veggies on (last 2 times they forgot and promised that they were on, only to find that they were not when I got home) VERY ANNOYING!!! But, I got a whole new plate, and correct for free so....... Personally, I 've always preferred the Mesa location (think they have the best torta de milanese) but end up going to San Andres more often than not. Parking can be a nightmare.
