This is definitely an acquired taste decision. If you have never eaten before I suggest you try it. Beers are good and the tucked away restaurant is very cool. If you have been here before than you know what I'm talking about. I like the food Dutch, German, maybe some other inspiration in the food. This guy has been here for a long time. Also check hours before stopping by. Not always open. View all feedback.
At first we thought there was just counter and outside seating and it was raining! Great vibes from the staff at counter seats. Then we spied the dining room behind the kitchen. Food was delicious and plentiful.
The style of food they make is mostly German and is really good. They make a killer baked pretzel, too. And their beer selection is excellent. All go great together while eating outside with friends in their beer garden or inside the cozy restaurant section. Highly recommend!
The menu features classic German sausages and a straightforward German potato salad—simple yet often delicious fare. The service has always been excellent, but it's the nostalgic atmosphere that truly enhances the experience, making it unique. I make it a point to visit at least once a month, if not twice. And be sure to check out their extensive selection of beers!
I recently realized that I'm quite a salad enthusiast, and this one truly won me over. It felt like a farmer's market on my plate, and I can’t wait to return for more! The schnitzel was wonderfully crispy and tender, and the beer selection was extensive and well-matched. Dining in the garden away from the street felt like stepping into a European dream. Our server, Luis, was a fantastic resource, sharing a wealth of information about the menu, the chefs, the history of the restaurant, and other hidden gems in the area. Now I know where I want to have my next happy hour!
The pastrami is superb, and they offer a great selection of German beers on tap. It's no wonder this place is iconic!
