First Indian food in Santa Barbara so can’t comment on the relative ranking yet. Service was above average and food was solid. I was told not to miss the cauliflower and butter chicken and both did not disappoint. Garlic naan was average as it could have used some more ghee and garlic. Wine selection was impressive if you are looking for a large selection of central coast organic wines. View all feedback.
What Agustin Harber doesn't like about Bibi Ji:
This place has really good food. I have only been here twice because of the ambiance. The first time I went, we sat inside and they were playing electronic dance music at club volume and we couldn't have a conversation without shouting over the table. Just went last night to try it again and say outside and the music was still bizarrely loud. Everything we ate was good, but it's a place I won't keep going to because... View all feedback.
This meal was amaze. The vibe was chill and the wine list, if anything overwhelming with local and global wine. Very laid back friendly service. All the dishes we had were great, anything you order you won’t be disappointed.
Excellent food and excellent, friendly service. We dined here twice while in Santa Barbara and had great meals each time. The butter chicken was delicious and the lamb chops knocked our socks off. I can’t recall the names of all of the dishes we had, but everything was outstanding. The wine list was an extensive collection of natural wines. The two we had were very good.

Good indian food with a natty wine list/shop. some of the best lamb chops I’ve had. curry had just the right amount of spice. food came out quickly. but pretty expensive for what it’s worth, $16 for the appetizer, $23 for butter chicken, an extra $5 each for basmati rice and 5 cubes of paneer… maybe i’m spoiled by SoCal. fyi, there’s a cute private outdoor patio in the back.
The outside patio was a great vibe. The eggplant and Panir were amazing. The uni biryani was a bit bland but highly recommend the eggplant.
