Sushi Murasaki - Santa Ana

The sushi was wonderfully authentic, and the service was outstanding.

This is an excellent restaurant to enjoy high-quality sushi in an Omakase style. The prices are reasonable considering the quality of the food. The appetizers are outstanding as well. We tried the salmon skin salad, fried octopus, and the standout dish was definitely the soft-shell crab.

Wow! We stopped for lunch on Saturday and had a fantastic experience. The service was excellent, the staff was friendly, and they provided great recommendations from the menu. The sushi was amazing and incredibly fresh—definitely the best I've had in a while. Will we be coming back? Absolutely!

They offer a 10 pieces $55) and a 12 pieces $75) Omakase. I wondered if there was a difference between the two other than two extra pieces. No, the only difference is two extra pieces. The two extras were a uni/salmon roe and a Japanese sack. That was not interested in the university to guarantee the additional $20, so I ordered the 10 pieces. In the end, I ordered a Tamago sushi. It was a pleasant meal. I appreciate how they had custom toppings to go with every fish. They also had a list of fish I had when I got to see which fish I had eaten. My favorite was actually the first to be a Black Sea Bream. It had this unexpected sleep to him, and a rich truffle taste that I really enjoyed. I also liked the scaling with caviar. All were delicious. Nothing super stands out to guarantee a second visit, but still a pleasant visit.

I've had one other place for omakasae and this experience was enough to make me not remember the first at all. Delicious food, fantastic service, the owner came over and spoke with us to check on how we were doing. All around great time, worth what was paid, and would definitely recommend and come back!
