What User likes about Restaurant La Central:
We ate here after checking into our room at Hacienda Uxmal. The location in just off the main square right by the church. The owner was extremely friendly & the food was excellently prepared & inexpensive. I had an exceptional marinated chicken dish that was cooked underground, a local specialty. Driving round Santa Elena we asked a local if there were any restaurants open. He suggested La Central, a simple family run place. We were warmly welcomed and ordered Mexican egg dish and a sandwich. There were only two other customers there and it was a good half an hour before we were served. Question hygiene! When we went to wash our hands, we only found a bucket of used water !!!!!!
