However, this restaurant was open every day and did an excellent set-menu lunch for 11.20 euros. Eating out in France in the evening can be very expensive. The "menu du jour", served at lunchtime is a great way to eat good food at very reasonable prices. The food was good and the menu was varied each day (duck one day, daube de boeuf the second). Simple tomatoe and basil salad to start one day, a delicious avocado and prawn salad the next. The menu consisted of 3 courses. A carafe of wine was only 4 euros. Ok - it wasn't a Grand Cru ! But it washed down the beef well. Comments have been made about the service - we found it good. Being out of season, the restaurant wasn't packed, but about half the tables were occupied - locals obviously find it worth a visit. We were able to sit out on the terrace, overlooking the lake, since the weather was warm, which was pleasant. A previous comment has also been made about the WC - this may have been fitted out recently. It was very big, extremely clean and modern. We also ate with friends one day, had 2 dogs with us, and the dogs were welcomed.

Chef (owner?) came out to talk to patrons, but our French speaking skills were pretty bad and I don't think we were as complimentary as he wanted and I'm sure he told us never to return! Bit much after spending €220.
