I always have a great experience eating here, whether I'm dining in or taking out. People really need to stop talking so much about this place and just enjoy the food or cook for themselves! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Tramway Diner:
This restaurant used to be a great place, but now it feels a bit disorganized. The staff, however, is knowledgeable and attentive. I suppose I’ll continue dining here for now. View all feedback.
This restaurant can become quite busy on certain mornings. The food is consistently excellent, especially for breakfast – we haven't tried lunch here. Everything from pancakes to omelets is delicious, and the quality remains high with each visit. The atmosphere has a classic Southern diner feel, and you'll find many locals dining here. The service is outstanding.
This place feels like a typical local diner, popular mostly with the over-75 crowd. I wouldn’t recommend it at all.
The waitress was extremely rude and didn’t even deliver our food to our table. When I asked if the potato salad contained bacon due to my allergy, she replied that it didn’t, but it was actually filled with bacon. She never checked on us or brought our food. I won't be returning.
Tramway Diner is halfway to UNC children’s hospital and my house. Every couple months my grandson and myself stop, usually for lunch, but today dinner, on our way home from an Appointment We always take dinner home for my son and husband. We always order liver and onions and I get the same for my husband. My son prefers that I get him something else. My grandson, who is now 4 always shares my liver and onions and I always get him collard greens. He always finishes the greens. Ash, my grandson was diagnosed with Autism a year ago. He is level 3 and just recently developed new sensory issue with people sitting down, so this makes it difficult to dine out. However he is on a feeding schedule for is feeding issues so we stop. At one point during dinner I wanted to take my food Togo, the kind waitress insisted we stay and reassured me that Ash was fine, that I need not worry about “it” holding back my tears I stayed for a few more bites of my delicious home cooked liver and onions. She also shared her story of love and hope.? I really needed to hear this. After getting my food together to take home, I grabbed my wiggley and not so happy grandson and went to the cashier to pay. The host insisted that she got our check. Again the tears rolled. I am so grateful for the kindness of these two women for showing and sharing love and compassion. Neither had to, but they did. I wish I caught their names but I didn’t, so tonight when I thank God for my blessings for the day Tramway Diner,, their staff, and food will be at the top! I love a good diner, and they are the best!
Very delicious food, friendly service and good atmosphere.
