What Gadgetmom 5664 doesn't like about Papa Bees:
We ordered the 20 wings, half buffalo half lemon pepper. My husband said the person taking his order recommended we get the lemon pepper wet because the dry rub were salty. Well when we got them the sauce was a red sauce, so red we thought they were the buffalo wings. They did not taste like lemon pepper at all, but we could see the black pepper seasoning. Either way they were okay and we ate them anyway instead of g... View all feedback.
This place serves the best wings in the entire universe! Their fried zucchini is fantastic too. I personally adore the Monte Cristo sandwich, and you must try their buffalo shrimp—so delicious! My family and I have been loyal customers since the '90s when they first opened on Curry Ford Rd. and Primrose, in the DMV shopping plaza near the old movie theater that used to be across from Clemmons Produce. Talk about a nostalgia trip! So go ahead, sit back, and enjoy!
This is one of those exceptional places that makes it worth driving 20 miles across town. I’ve been keeping it under wraps on social media since before COVID, but I believe everyone deserves to experience their Garlic Parm and Nuke sauce. This spot stands out because they use real, finely chopped garlic on their wings, which really enhances the flavor. The Nuke sauce is spicy even for an Indian palate; I wouldn’t change a thing, including the interior decor. It's one of those rare local treasures that has withstood the test of time and corporate competition. I wholeheartedly give it a 10/10 recommendation. **Edit:** Added a picture of the honey garlic and boneless Nuke wings.
I had the turkey melt sandwich as an appetizer we had the corn dogs. My wife had the chicken wrap. It was a little messy to eat for her. Overall, all the was very good. The one drawback was that it was a cool night outside, and the a/c was turned to make the place very cold. It was a little uncomfortable being cold in doors when the place wasn't even half full. The waiters were wearing sweatshirts or hoodies. That was the only drawback to the evening. We still will go back again.

Well when we got them the sauce was a red sauce, so red we thought they were the buffalo wings. They did not taste like lemon pepper at all, but we could see the black pepper seasoning. Either way they were okay and we ate them anyway instead of going back. Might go back again if we're in the area and try the dry LP and also ask if it's customary for the wet LP sauce to be red.
You won't believe how good the chicken wings are, especially the garlic medium and spicy teriyaki flavors. The staff is friendly, and it's a great place overall!
