Although we already knew that the location on l 17 of wrest point casino was amazing, the food expanded this experience beyond our expectations. Toby , the chef chef, delivered the most sensational choice of dressing, with matching weeping to our..., the high point of our trip to tasmania .. the staff was courtesy, informed and we were never rushed here.
I was immersed on a laune in this restaurant while I was on a weekend holiday in hobart, so I wasn't drawn out for an expensive night, but I didn't look ashamed. I probably looked a bit like mike Cannon-Brookes (one of the richest people in Australia who don't wear any suit) from the minute I came in, treated myself as having no money. first I was told that the restaurant was completely booked (it was completely empty) then I was shown the menu at the door to make sure that I want to eat there before I could have a table. When I finally scored a table, I was told that there was a minimum order of two deer or a main court per person. the friendly smiles of the staff hardly concealed their reconciling attitude, and it completely ruined an otherwise pleasant meal. I couldn't wait to go and they couldn't wait to get rid of me. the haloumi and the artichoke dishes were delicious and well represented. but the risotto was annoying, soggy and unlust. this is a really nice restaurant that is totally ruined by snobbery.
The staff at the restaurant are wonderful and friendly. And the meals were delicious -more expensive than the normal but definitely worth it and not one of those meals from a fine dining experience that come out and you think you have already eaten it....We were full.
WOW, what an amazing restaurant. The Restaurant is superb, the food was absolutely delicious and the staff were fantastic. We had a duck croquet complimentary from the chef (delicious) I had a soufflé Rock Lobster (delicious) then Flambé prawns with mild curry (delicious) Dessert was...also delicious Flambé Crepe Suzette with Orange Icecream . Then chef gave us another little treat a small chocolate basket with mousse inside Our main waiter was Justin and he made our night even more awesome. Well Done to all. Definitely will be back and would recommend to anyone
We had long been looking forward to dining at the Revolving Restaurant again. We had been there many times in the past with varying experiences, but the promising recent reviews drew us back. We were destined to be extremely disappointed and so sad that such...a signature restaurant had come to this. We received a phone call early on the morning of our reservation to inform us that there would be no flambé cooking at the table due to lack of staff. Really? We arrived that evening on time and so looking forward to dinner. However, I knew right from the start that it was not going to go right. Did we feel welcome … no,absolutely not! The service from a bored and apathetic staff was appalling. The food was cold, mediocre, and above all, unimaginative. When was the last time that ‘chefs’ served bits of vegetables like soldiers set around the rim of the plate? To sum up … awful, in every way. I felt embarrassed for my guests. I do not think that I will ever go back. What a shame. A restaurant with one of the most beautiful views in Hobart, should have everything on offer. Federal Hotels … it’s time to lift your game … there are now many competitors on the Hobart scene. It’s time to ‘shine’, like you once did in the past.
