What Scott Schreyer doesn't like about Mandarin Garden:
Live close by so have come here many times. Unfortunately, the food this time was way too spicy and the overall quality has slipped significantly. We ordered Mongolian beef and House, lo mein, neither of which should have been spicy. Also, the egg drop soup tasted like it had been scorched. Too bad as it was convenient for us. Threw most of it away. Service: Take out View all feedback.

This used to be our go-to Chinese place in the area, but the last two years it's gone downhill quickly. I believe it's under new ownership. Service is no longer good or friendly, and the food is mediocre at best. The chow mein is vile. If you order it takeout, it's prepackaged, store-bought noodles served in a small, sealed bag. These are noodles you can buy in a big can for $2 at Walmart. Other dishes lack flavor, and I'm fairly certain they don't start preparing to-go, fully paid for orders until you show up to pick up the food. They don't apologize or offer an explanation, so you just sit in the lobby for 20 minutes twiddling your thumbs while the employees ignore you. Good times. Can no longer recommend this place, unfortunately.
The cashew chicken had bad smell. The fried rice didn't have fresh ingredients, it tasted and looked like frozen peas and carrots had been added. Very disappointed, won't ever be returning. The restaurant also needs some serious updating and freshing up.
