Ok, not my father's idea of Chinese..we hail from earlier days when Chinese was really Chinese!

I recently dined at Joy Luck Restaurant and had a delightful experience. Specializing in classic Chinese cuisine, the restaurant offers a wide variety of authentic dishes that are both flavorful and beautifully presented. The ambiance is warm and inviting, with traditional decor that adds to the overall charm. The service was attentive and friendly, making the meal even more enjoyable. Mango smoothie was good but the rest of the food was just meh.

I recently visited Joy Luck in Sandy, UT, and I must say, it was a fantastic dining experience. I ordered the Sweet and Sour Chicken, which came with egg drop soup. The food was delicious. They also offer gluten-free options, including deep-fried dishes. My daughter had the gluten-free Orange Chicken, which I had to try, and it was incredible. Mim, our waiter, provided the best service I’ve experienced in a long time. He was incredibly attentive, ensuring our drinks never went below half full before refilling them. Mim was also very friendly and outgoing, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. He went above and beyond by bringing a water bottle and a soft drink for the road. The restaurant and restrooms were very clean, adding to the overall pleasant experience. Joy Luck is definitely a hidden gem and a must-visit for anyone looking for great food and outstanding service. My daughter had the gluten-free Orange Chicken, which I had to try, and it was incredible. Parking: Plenty of surface parking Kid-friendliness: Very kid friendly Wheelchair accessibility: Easy wheelchair accessibility. Waiter, Min, was very proactive active helping the elder in and out of their booth.

My individual ratings for food and atmosphere are lower than the total, because if you go to a Chinese restaurant called Joy Luck, you bring with you a certain kind of expectation. I didn’t expect to have a Michelin star type of experience, I expected a Chinese restaurant called Joy Luck type of experience. And you know what? It was great! A little better than my expectations, and that rarely happens at restaurants because hunger usually muddles my judgment. So 5 stars! A great experience for what it is, and I think that’s all we can ask for.
