I ordered the Pho tai and it comes with round steak and the fresh pho accoutrements and rice noodles. The broth was flavorful and I liked that the meat was separate from broth so that you can add. I also got the crispy Vietnamese egg rolls that were flavorful also. I also liked the sauce that came with it. View all feedback.
What Ryan T doesn't like about Phova:
Slow. Looks like it's under new ownership since they changed their name to Pho Va. Sign still says Phuong Lien on top, but store says different. Took 30 minutes to make 6 banh mi's we were the only ones there. Banh Mi was decent , but they need to work on the process or have more people working. Banh Mis ranged from $5.50-6.50. May only order 1 type of Banh Mi next time to make it faster. View all feedback.

The only Vietnamese restaurant that serves authentic pork porridge. My number 1 hang over cure beside pho and menudo!
I am so torn in doing this review. I am writing this review based on other Vietnamese restaurants I 've frequented in LA and Atlanta home base) and the ONE other Virginia Beach Vietnamese restaurant I 've been to. First and foremost, this is a no-frills little hole-in-the-wall establishment serving a small selection of Vietnamese food. Perhaps I should 've gotten the pho but I chose the hu tiu dac biet $14) instead. I was expecting a combination of pork and seafood with nice noodles in a rich broth with lots of fried garlic and Chinese celery. What I got was a sad bowl of chicken rice) noodle soup with a few pieces of pork, chicken and cha. I will commend them for serving the soup piping hot but the limited amount of meat was discouraging. Even more so when the chicken is freezer burned. The iced coffee $4.95) is not Cafe du Monde with condensed milk. It tastes like generic coffee with cream and a splash of sugar. The banh mi dac biet $7.95) was a slight saving grace but no where compared to the quality of larger cities. The meats were thick cut and there was a healthy serving of pâté but there was no homemade mayo. There was no mayo at all!! The pickled carrots were ok but were grated and not thick pieces like I 'm used to. There were no daikon radishes. The service provided by the owners was nice. The female owner referred to me as lady the entire time which was a bit comical. Three stars because the food was edible and the owners were nice. I can 't say I recommend though.
Food is very delicious! Very friendly owners. Authentic Vietnamese food at its best. Highly recommend!
Food is good here! HOWEVER, the 4-star rating is for the LOOOONNNNGGGG wait times. Every single time now (this is more than 10 times) when I call in a takeout order, I wait the quoted time and show up, having to wait at least another 30 minutes to 1 hour for my order to be completed. I don't know if they purposefully wait for customers to show up before making the order? If so, just say that! I'm getting tired of this. If you value your time, DO NOT order from here unless you have the extra time to burn waiting. I am writing this as I am standing in the restaurant waiting for an order placed 1 hr ago, quoted 25-30 minutes and I even buffered an extra 15 minutes in there...but here I am, waiting for my order...again! New owners are very nice ... they need help in the kitchen for sure.
