the place is nice, you can dine almost the feet in the water. The kitchen is good, it is not quite (in my very humble opinion) a gourmet restaurant for which one makes the trip above all for the pleasure of taste buds, but it seemed to us made from fresh products. It was very good, well seasoned, efficient, and perfectly in phase with the place and the season! A nice exit. View all feedback.
What Isaac Noel doesn't like about La Plage Doree:
Another local institution, this place is spacious with quite a few sunbeds which are comfortable (as always booking ahead is a must gaining access and parking are a bit o a shlep unless you arrive early (10 The restaurant's menu is your typical mediterranean local...shack type. all in all, it is ok but for the money, It could be a ll a lillte better though: friendlier and swifter service fresher food (when your rice... Sent by plage dorée, third series. the access is difficult on the hill and with stairs. quite impossible to park their car, except when they arrive early 10-10:30 sunbeds are unpleasant and very close to each other. they feel like cooking it is. very hot and they will not get fresh air because the restaurant stop the circulation of the wind. beachboy and staff helpful and smiling we had lunch in the restaurant and it was pretty good 20-25 euro a dish children's menu sandwiches and panini on the beach sessel 18 euro not my favorite beach, but surely nice for a romantic diner with a breathtaking view
If you want to feel close to the water and see a great sunset, this is the fair little menu, basic set (was not enthusiastic in the loos). beautiful cocktail list (we had aperol and a fresh cocktail). I love my garnel and. the nasty was good. no place to dessert, probably because we had too much wein at our meal. friendly staff.
Rents some chairs, 18€ per chair and obliges to eat in the beach restaurant. good and friendly service, eating is good for a place on the beach. we were 3 adult and our 1 year old twins: 200€ to the end of the day. expensive...for a place in the sun (or shadow).
Having dinner on a beach on the French Mediterranean coast is always an experience.... somtimes great , sometimes disastrous. In this case, it has always been absolutly great. Just go to the beach before, enjoy the sun set on Bandol Bay then a great dinner....Service is good, food fantastic, view unbelievable and prices reasonnable.... can't dream of anything better. Just hope it stays like that.
We found this restaurant after being unable to get reservations for 4 at other better known places. Since it was literally on the beach, we feared it would let it's location compensate for its food. It has a funky ocean side feel. Boy, were we...wrong. The entire evening was perfect from the appetizers, fresh fish, the pasta, the desserts, and the service. 2 of us shared a Cobb Salad that I still remember. Who remembers Cobb Salads? A wonderful woman by the name of Gaelle was our server. The languages spoken at our table were French, German, and English and Gaelle was able to handle all three with grace and aplomb. Further, she had a delightful, whimsical sense of humor that added perfectly to the evening. My only recommendation would be to provide cloth napkins at dinner.
