Experience a rest from the busy Tucson life with the small town feel of Joe's Pancake House. Our server was very friendly and made sure we were comfortable, despite the busy lunch rush. The food is similar to any local run diner, but the homey atmosphere sets Joe's apart from other morning destinations. I recommend this place as a spot to meet with friends. View all feedback.
What Stephanie Gaffney doesn't like about Joe's Pancake House:
My lower rating is because there were eggshells in my omelet and we didn’t care for the food too much in general (we had breakfast, didn’t try the lunch). Pancakes were difficult to cut due to the texture. The servers/staff were kind and the wait wasn’t too bad, but overall not worth it for us to visit in the future. View all feedback.
I think I was here years and years ago but had forgotten. I love pancakes, which is what drew me in here again... but they don't really do pancakes here as a specialty. They do a basic pancake like most places including Denny's, with your choice of fruit dumped on top. Not very impressive to a true pancake obsessed person, along with not having maple syrup... If you are coming for pancakes you will get the same experience at any chain IMO. SO my husband true to form got the Huevos Rancheros and I opted for the Joe's Omelet. Both were good. Nothing to off the charts for me. My husband said the beans were really good. I think what you will see with the reviews (because I am astounded by the 5 star ones) is that folks like the whole independent diner vibe which I did enjoy as well. Service was great... I just can't rave about the food which was no different than a Denny's for me (hashbrowns were NOT fresh, despite other reviews going on about fresh ingredients). Prices were in line with inflation today my very basic Omelet, hashbrowns and an English muffin was $14 which seemed a smidge high given I had zero meat with my breakfast. Solid service, decent food.
Not wheelchair accessible as it is quite tight and narrow quarters I brought my Rollator and had to park it on the side with the rest of the rollers and walkers. The waiter was wonderful, Problem solver, thoughtful and very cute earrings with a Barbie apron. I had the complete breakfast which included several versions. I chose the steak and eggs with a fruit cup and biscuit and jelly. All of these sides came with the complete breakfast for the steak and two eggs any style. The eggs were creamy on the inside salted perfectly and cooked correctly. The steak was well salted, and very tasty tender cut of meat. The cup was delicious. I was given cantaloupe, honeydew and orange segments. The coffee could be stronger. I didn’t really enjoy the biscuit as I feel it was more like a bread than a biscuit.
Tasted and felt like homemade food... like my aunt cooked me breakfast ? I will be a returning customer!
Always hot and fast. Kid-friendliness: Kids pancake.
