A place where the locals eat, very tasty food at very affordable prices. Had faraona in padella (fowl meat cooked in the pan with tomatoes and spices), highly reccomended! View all feedback.
What Mike M doesn't like about Da Francesco:
The restaurant is too bright but my 2 colleagues and I stayed as we thought the food may be good. We were wrong it was all appalling. The pasta was hard, the lamb was all gristle, and the 2 mixed grills we had were so salty they were inedible. Never again. View all feedback.

If you're going along the Strada Statale 361 at mealtimes, a few kilometres outside San Severino, on the Macerata side, you'll find a frazione called Taccoli, with dozens of lorries pulled in outside a restaurant. That's Francesco's, and the lorries should tell you something that you can be sure of getting a good meal at a good price. (A good meal for an Italian lorry driver means exactly the same as it does for anyone else in Italy two or three courses, wine, coffee ... Excellent fish, excellent lamb, beautiful fruit, good local wine.... Lots of local people eat there too. Air conditioning in summer, which is a blessing. It's fairly big, but even so at mealtimes it can be very busy, so you may have to wait for a bit for a table to become free. Friendly service, by Francesco's long serving, hard working staff.
