The Brass Door has been around forever. It serves good comfort food at decent prices. Great for families. We went there for Easter dinner. The service was also great and very attentive. View all feedback.
What ferrari s doesn't like about Brass Door:
I have been going to the Brass Door since the 1970's. As much as I like to support small local restaurants the Brass Door is making hard to return after several attempts This latest visit I ordered the rib-eye steak, it was paper thin, not juicy and platted very poorly. thrown over the veggies and potatoes I know what this restaurant used to be like, you needed a reservation, the food and service was outstanding. Parking was easy, service was excellent and filet mignon cooked to perfection
Too much quantity, too little quality. We went there to try their prime rib. We ordered senior portions, as we don 't eat a lot. The wife asked for rare, got medium; I asked for medium rare, got medium /well. Food was warm, not hot. The usual creamed spinach and potato with. Also lukewarm. Service seemed a bit slow, perhaps because they seemed pretty busy for a Monday night and may have been somewhat short-staffed. The coffee with dessert was also lukewarm. They comped it when I told them and I hadn 't drunk it. To be fair: their prices are probably a half to a third of fancy chain steak houses (e.g. Ruth 's Chris, etc. , so I think their sweet spot market is probably different than what we were hoping for, and my comments just reflect that mismatch. As far as we could tell, most of the folks there seemed happy with their dinners.
Service was terrible. Loud waiter that ignored us for most of the evening.
Food was just not good. Calamari and filet of sole both served with the same brownish gravy and not very warm.
Great low-key dining experience with a nice menu and affordable prices. Service was quick and pleasant. We will be back!
