La Tortillería De Escazú - San Rafael

Fresh made to order amazing food of the region! Tortillas, chorreados, torticasados, fresh juices, and traditional Costa Rican drip coffee… drip it yourself with your own little traditional coffee set up that they provide. La Tortilleria de Escazu is cheery, clean, and bright and has a huge open window, facing the street, which provides a nice breeze in the restaurant. A staircase leads up to I don’t know where… maybe upstairs dining? There were three tables full of diners when I arrived but I stayed till almost closing time enjoying my coffee after dinner. I will absolutely be back!

We ordered online for delivery and were not disappointed. The pintortillas were delicious! Lots of flavour. We thought the order would be a bit smaller but to our surprise, it was pretty big! Keep this in mind, as we made the mistake to order two pintortillas and an extra tortilla rellena because we had a pintortilla at Feria Verde and it was quite small! Overall, great food. Will definitely order again before leaving San José

I really enjoyed this place. The staff person was very friendly and kind about my extremely limited Spanish. I tried something I’ve never had before. It was served on a freshly made tortilla, and had rice, small salad, black beans, beef, and chicken, small piece of cheese, and some nice plantains. When it was first brought to my table I thought I had ordered too much but it was so good that I ended up eating at all. This is my first trip to Costa Rica . I love the beauty of the country, the wonderful food and the warm, friendly and kind Costa Ricans everywhere I’ve been.

It’s my second time here and I’m continually impressed with the foods they prepare and the customers service provided, super great local cuisine at affordable prices, a must eat place in escazu.

Quality local food, filling portions, decently priced highly recommended!!!
