Rubio's - San Mateo

Okay. So I want to give 5 but my meal was messed up on two back to back occasions so I have to take points. But the food is great! The cabbage is fresh and the fish is great. I really enjoyed everything here and the desserts were fantastic as well (especially when you consider that you're getting a brownie and lemon bar from a fish taco restaurant I would like to note that on one occasion a woman came in with several children (Several! that ran wild in the shop. The craziest thing was that another woman came in (and did not sit, eat, or speak with first said woman which leads me to believe they didn't know each other and let her kids join in on the fun! It was ridiculous! The staff said nothing and it really made us, and other patrons (seemingly , uncomfortable! I've never seen anything like that! I want to actually take more stars because of it! I haven't even seen that much child screaming action at the McDonald's Play Place!! I want to end hear but seriously these kids were doing laps and laps around people in line with no shoes and dirty faces! It was like Lord of the flies meets the Children of the Corn in a taco shop! Anyways... The food is great. Really is. It's why I am leaving them at 4 stars. I hope the madness isn't a usual thing and for that I can recommend this place.

There's something strange about this Rubios. It's good! For some reason, 85 percent of the time, the fish is fried perfectly, crisp and moist. Other locations fry their fish to death like it's host of an outbreak or something.

$2 Taco Tuesday! I love coming here with my friends whenever I'm in the mood for fish tacos. They satisfy my cravings without breaking the bank. Plus, there's a great selection of salsas and dips to complement your meal!

I always enjoy visiting this restaurant for lunch or dinner. The food is consistently delicious, and the staff is incredibly friendly, especially when I encounter a minor issue with my order. I highly recommend it!

Delicious food for a quick bite! It's affordable, tasty, and served fast. Very kid-friendly as well. I highly recommend the coastal trio taco and the mango iced tea.
