Was Andres De Alba at Meet Fresh San Mateo a mag?
The food here is tasty, and the portion sizes are generous. However, the staff tends to remain behind the counter and doesn't engage much with customers. It's a great spot for larger groups to relax or for getting some work done. View all feedback.
What Joey W dislikes about Meet Fresh San Mateo:
Came here after dinner for some dessert because it was one of the few places to sit down.Rice Ball Tofu Pudding rice balls were soft and chewy. The tofu was silky and smooth. A lot of different choice , super delicious dessert place .Chill , great place with good dessert. The favor is just 100% the same from Taiwan. Really worth to give a try !!
Reliable spot for family or group post-dinner dessert or afternoon snacks. Has these large corner tables that you can squeeze in many and with add on stools, many can gather around. Really smart interior design. The Taiwanese desserts are great. It 's a bit difficult to find your line of favorites as there 's some weird sounding stuff like taro balls and sweet tofu. But once you get the groove, it 's really tasty and consistent. You can 't go wrong with shaved ice and these are some of the best in the Bay Area.My only message to the owners is that service time can be really random . The desserts aren 't complicated yet it feels like sometimes they come out extremely fast and sometimes it 's as if they are growing the beans for the tofu.Overall wonderful addition to San Mateo.Parking: Standard San Mateo parking challenge. Free streets and lots over weekends and late night. Otherwise a couple dollars.

It's meetfresh! A classic chain, with pretty consistent yummy desserts in my opinion. This one is larger and has lots of seating inside. You order through a tablet and food comes out quickly. shaved ice with warm taro, ice cream, pudding, red bean, boba, mochi, taro balls. so many toppings so man textures! the icey part could've used a tad more condensed milk but overall a good treat to share :
What a letdown! The service was lacking, and the desserts were just mediocre. There was a long wait to place an order, with only one machine in use. To make matters worse, there was an overwhelming amount of confusing signs—over 20 at the entrance alone! There were instructions for everything: what to do, what not to do, how to order, and what items were available, among other things. And to top it off, many of the signs were inaccurate! I was looking forward to a mango special that turned out to be unavailable on the ordering machine. Plus, the machine prompted me to leave a tip! Considering we had to take our own orders, pick up our food, and clear our own tables, what exactly were we tipping for? As for my black sugar boba shaved ice, it was just okay—not bad, but not great either. At least I could customize the sweetness level.
