When you open the plastic lid, you can't help smiling to see the colorful bento. The quality is so much higher than any bento boxes you find at stores or restaurants. I've had a couple of bento and both times have come away underwhelmed. I think what was supposed to be chicken teriyaki wasn't grilled and was coated in a thick gluey sauce instead of a glaze. The namasu was overly squeezed and dry. The mochi was too soft and the anko had bits of undercooked bean. I had bought obento for my elderly parents and was embarrassed by how mazui it was!
