Ryan Bros. Coffee - San Marcos

Ryan Brothers is a nice enough spot and the staff is friendly and solicitous. Unfortunately, on the rare occasions I've been here, I've been consistently disappointed. The problems seem to be two-fold. First, the quality of the coffee itself is mediocre. The taste suggests cracked, unevenly sized beans haphazardly roasted. Someone is phoning it in on this score. Second, the baristas' skills are not optimal. They somehow manage to get espresso drinks to taste like they were made with the percolated stuff my mom used to drink when I was a boy. If I'm recommending the nearby Starbucks over Ryan Brothers, that should tell you something. Really hoped for something more.

When I lived in South San Diego I would frequent the Barrio Logan location. But since moving to Escondido I couldn't afford to drive all the way there to get my coffee. However, since discovering that Ryan Bros has a San Marcos location I am looking forward to being a regular visitor! The pumpkin spice collection is great. I had the pumpkin spice cold brew and it didn't disappoint. The coffee is rich and not bitter. The service is quick and friendly. Plus they have a cool outdoor seating area to relax, work or study. I ordered a veggie sandwich which had fresh, crisp veggies with a veggie spread. If you need a place to meet or a place to grab a great coffee this is the place to go.

I enjoy this location. Lots of delicious teas and coffees to satisfy your cravings. There are always baked goods as well to purchase. Although they have 5 violations reported, praying they are improved and on the way to having an 100/100 score. The bathroom is clean and there are plenty of areas to sit at the front, inside and on the large patio. Great for meeting with a large group, you and your dog/s or single seating at the breakfast bar overlooking the parking lot. Staff has been pleasant with each visit. Floors are esthetically designed and painted well. Many small touches at this location which are appreciated by the customers. Looking forward to coming back each time.

Live is too short to be bitter. I love this quote above their entrance! Ryan Bros Coffee serves up a delicious blueberry muffin that is packed with blueberries and is sure to satisfy any blueberry muffin lover. They also offer a variety of other sweets and sandwiches. The Americano is smooth and rich, and the ambience is chill. The baristas are friendly and have great attitudes. I 'll have to come back to try their sandwiches!:

Had an amazing bagel and the staff was very kind. I will definitely be coming back. I did not LOVE the coffee but it was alright.
