View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about La Chakra:
Le personnel était très sympathique, la nourriture correcte mais sans plus. Le menu est a 18 sol pour entrée plat et un thé à la coca. Un wrap par exemple est à 16 sol. Le restaurant n'est pas facile à trouver car en sous-sol. View all feedback.
I'm pretty sure this place is closed now. I passed on February 16th and there was nothing at the address. I asked a guard who then brought me to some people in an office of the building and showed her body language that it had gone for good (my Spanish is poor). Luckily another vegan friendly place (Raw Cafe) was just 12 minutes walk away, so I went there and had a nice dinner.
I eat there while I traveled with my friends, and the food was really good, so was the attraction. I recommend La Chakra to everyone in Miraflores. The food and the staff are both wonderful!
We really enjoyed our meal at La Chakra in December 2016. We had a raw pizza (delicious, nice texture), a chickpea veggie burger (delicious, came with a really good salad), a great smoothie, and a nice raw cake dessert. All of the food felt very healthy and nourishing. It is not the cheapest option around (but not really expensive either) and the service was very slow. Plan for a leisurely meal. Note the restaurant is below street level. The staff spoke some English but not fluent. As with any travel in Peru I recommend taking time to learn the basics of Spanish for restaurants, travel logistics, etc. as it will help you a lot and the Peruvians will appreciate your effort.
You need to be careful not to miss this place. It's in the basement of a bunch of shops on a corner, hidden amongst the travel agents. The raw menu is full of wraps, pizzas, smoothies and desserts. I had the Arab wrap. It contained in no particular order, hummus, tomato, cashew cheese never thought that would sound good, or taste that way), alpha alpha and maybe lettuce, see photo attached to peer in. This was delicious. If only I could take them home. The brownie was a little dry but I'm sure with working to achieve that hard balance in raw food, they get it right.
Having been in Lima quite a while now, I have worked my way through nearly every veggie and vegan restaurant and La Chakra is my favourite! On first visit, it's a bit tricky to find, hidden just off Avenida Pardo, down some stairs but definitely worth looking for. They have the best desserts I have ever tasted! They are mostly Raw Vegan, healthy and delicious! The main plates of all prepared with love and care and look amazing and are even better to taste. You can even buy fresh vegan milks, that they prepare especially for you, no preservative just pure almond/coconut milk etc. Another little bonus, is the staff are very friendly and welcoming, which is not true for other veggie/vegan restaurants in Lima. They have a great personal touch at La Chakra. If you have not been yet, definitely check it out, you won't be dissappointed, and make sure you order a dessert!
