My daughter and I were in Lima for the first time and loved our dinner at IK. The staff could not have been more accommodating.The atmosphere is beautiful. The unique flavors and presentation made it a perfect place for us to have dinner. Loved it!! View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about IK Restaurante:
This place is not really bad NOT ugly atmosphere, NOT bad quality food, NOT overpriced... But nothing great as well. As far as it is positioned as a gastronomic restaurant for special occasions, you expect smth more than very ordinary food, badly packed wine...list and dying plants on the walls, responsible for the atmosphere. Visited May With reservations we arrived before opening. In a dark neighborhood, it was a bit difficult to discern the exact location. Once we entered it was a welcoming atmosphere with some fascinating sightlines into the kitchen. The dinner was fantastic, with plenty of...smaller courses exploring Peru's regions. Dessert courses and the cocktails were a great highlight. The service was a bit impersonal and staff varied over the course of our meal. Regardless, the fascinating blend of Japanese and Peruvian cuisine was great and made for a delicious night. One of us was vegetarian and was equally impressed.
IK ruined my last night in Peru! I wanted to try some of Lima's famed high-end cuisine, and from the list of Central, Gaston y Astrid, Rafael and IK, I went with new kid on the block, IK. BIG MISTAKE! I booked a reservation on August three weeks in advance, using their online reservation system. I received several email reminders. On Aug at approximately they sent an email that said it was confirming my reservation. A very small, and hard to see, button at bottom of the email said to click to confirm. At approximately on Aug I received an email saying my reservation was cancelled because I had not confirmed. Regardless, I did not see either of these two emails until the morning of Aug I was travelling on Aug and did not have email access. A window to confirm a reservation the day before the reservation is inappropriate. Not everyone is glued to their email! When I arrived in Lima the morning of Aug I asked the concierge at my hotel to call IK to see if he could get the reservation back. He discovered that the restaurant was closed for a prolonged period and would re-open sometime in September. By then it was too late to book at Central, Gaston y Astrid or Rafael. Worse, I had to phone my credit card company to ensure I was not charged the the cancellation fee. If IK was closing down for an extended period it could have had the courtesy to send an email to those of us with reservations so we could make alternative arrangements. Anything less is just rude and disrespectful.
Title says it all. Showed up for a reservation and the placed was dark and shut tight. Foul ending to a Terri cub vacation.
Excelent restaurant and very well priced. The Ik experience is course and is more than enought for a dinner. Staff very professional and kind.
Muy buena comida, buen servicio y el ambiente...hermoso! Ha sido una muy linda experiencia, muy tranquilo, todos los detalles han sido contemplados. Y los baños...muy bonitos!
