Irene's Mexican - San Juan

A friend brought us a caldo from this little restaurant and I have to say I fell in love!! so many restaurants to choose from and the caldo by far is the best tasting!! I decided to go on my own this past week and it was so delicious. I ordered the daily special chicken tacos to die for!! Salsa sooo good too.. the owner is very nice and welcoming. I will definitely be going back. and recommending highly to all my friends and family.

For Southern Texas, where there are a million Mexican restaurants, the food here was rather bland. I asked for a roasted jalapeño and received a small dish of canned, sliced jalapeños. And somewhat high priced at many $13 plates. At least the $13 plates include two cans of soda pop. The chips and salsa were good. The service was excellent. The establishment is crystal clean. They have a lot more seating inside than it looks like from the outside.

I just started ordering from this restaurant and I must say this place has the best home cooked meals. This food is delicious. If you haven't tried it you must try it.

Very affordable, great food and excellent customer service. One of my favorite places to have coffee and breakfast with my mom and sister.
