We have been coming to Ixtapa / Z for years now and this is the best food ever. The tuna steak was so fresh and well prepared it was essentially sashimi. The escargot was fantastic and the restaurant had solid bottles of wine. The service was great and I get the sense it's a family run restaurant. Will definitely return. View all feedback.
We have eaten at Chuletos several times over the last couple of years. We returned again this year to specifically eat the Smoked Pork Calf (shank) as well as the steamed artichoke. We also had the Swiss style pork chop with gravy. Both are really good meals. The smoked shank just melts in your mouth and is full of flavor. The pork chops is tender and delicious. The steamed artichoke is their signature dish and is always very yummy. The owner always comes out and talks with us and makes us feel very welcomed every time we visit. This is always a repeat for us when we are in Zihuatanejo.
This place never ceases to disappoint us. The people who work there are absolutely fabulous and cannot do enough to make you happy. It's the food is not perfect tell them and they will do it over no complaints. Among our favorite and often eaten are: 1) steamed artichoke 2) snails 3) the best grilled quail's you can eat anywhere make sure you tell him not to overcook 4) of very tasty pork chop 5) order this seared Sesame tuna but not on Sunday or holiday because they get it fresh from the boats 10 feet away – it can be fabulous. And among them best anywhere in the world is Vanilla Pantacotta which I have begged them for years for the recipe. We try and eat here every week that we had there and the price is reasonable.
I never expected when we started coming 30 years ago that lamb chops would be available here. These are better than we get back home! Their special sauce just enhances without overpowering the meat flavor. Also their pork chop and duck breast is highly recommended!
We eat at Chuleto once or twice each time we are in Zihuataneo. It is a gem of a restaurant tucked away on the water side of Paso Del Pescador. The young man who helps us, Artemio, speaks excellent english and the service is always perfect. If you like Ahi tuna-it is hands down the best in town. It's the freshest you can imagine and often brought in a few hours before you eat it. Our favorite is tuna is quickly sealed with a dipping sauce and if you prefer-they also have a peppered tuna The quail is grilled, juicy and perfectly seasoned. Feeling like pasta dig into their pasta with mussels. In the mood for escargot- they will make your mouth water and as delicious as any we have eaten in France. Thinking you need a healthy vegie-enjoy their steamed artichoke as an appetizer served with a delicious dipping sauce. Happy eating!
