La Picazon - San Jose del Cabo

Alex at Picazon was an amazing host at this gem in San Jose del Cabo. His recommendation of a smoked fish and shrimp wrap was one of the tastiest things we tried while on vacation in paradise. He even shared a few recipe secrets with us including his delicious teriyaki jalapeños!!! We ended up spending a lot more time here than planned due to the hospitality and helpfulness of the owner. P.s. Try the hibiscus tea and take the time to visit the botanical gardens nearby.

We ended up eating here our first night in San Jose del Cabo because they were the only place open. Lucky for us!! The fool was delicious. My husband had a chicken quesadilla and I had the catch of the day tacos, which were delicious sea bass. The food was really good, and the service (Alex) was amazing. The chips and salsa before dinner were also excellent; in addition to the regular red and green salsas, we were served jalapenos with a sweet Asian edge (I think he said teriyaki) and a garlic mayo sauce. Mixing the jalapenos and mayo on a chip was excellent. We will definitely be going back. They don't serve alcohol; it may be due to their proximity to a school? The food exceeded our expectations and we will be back before our vacation is over.

The place relocated and just recently opened. The owner was friendly and nice. The rough guide book recommended the octopus taco and I tried it with their homemade sauce. It was delicious.

El wrap de pulpo es el mejor, y ademas, tienen salsas y chiles curtidos hechos en casa. Las papas fritas también son geniales.

Absolutely delicious healthy Mexican food. A real treat from the 4 very yummy salsas that accompanied the chips to the last bite of our mains. The prawns and the catch of the day were so fresh. The prices are so so reasonable. The setting is pleasant and the young man Alex who owns the Picazon is an absolute delight. To top it all he has a super cute sausage dog! Do yourself a favour and if you are in San Jose del Cabo visit this place .
