My husband went fishing and caught a tuna. We were staying at Cabo Azul so he checked with the staff at Javier's and asked if they would prepare some of it for us. They did an amazing job, for a great price. They charged us $25 per person. My husband loves sushi. They do have a sushi chef out on the patio on the beach side of the restaurant. He prepared some sashimi and some rolls for him that looked and tasted amazi... View all feedback.
What User doesn't like about Javier's:
We have ate at Javier's in Las Vegas and it was wonderful , but this is totally different. Over priced terrible service and food is ok. We went twice and less than impressed both times. The last time we went it took 20 minutes to get server, another 30 to get drinks after we order. Other people around us were complaining about poor service. One couple said it was 45 minutes and still no drink. They are very unorganiz... View all feedback.
No vamos a volver. Y además no funcionaba demasiado bien el aire acondicionado... pasamos calor.
The dining experience was fantastic. The food, view & service was excellent. The was excellent selection of tapas, entrees, drinks & desserts.
Our meal took 1 h and 15 m to arrive and we were told it was b/c there were some large parties. The restaurant was half full. They offered us more chips. The food that came was awful. Would not return
Upon entering Javier's one is impressed with the decor, which allows them to consider themselves fine dining in San Jose del Cabos. However, the staff, while very attentive, is very stiff and formal. I prefer servers who are friendly and engaging. The view of the Sea of Cortez was great. We asked for an inside table so we could be comfortable with air conditioning, but we were the only ones inside. All other guests were seated on an outside patio. We each had a glass of Sangria which was not particularly good. We split one appetizer, quesadillas, which were excellent and filling. We could have (and should have) ended our meal here--the serving was so large that it was enough for an entire meal. I then had my Mexican staple--chicken fajitas--for a main course, and my wife had shrimp in garlic sauce, which had been recommended by the waiter. Neither main course was particularly good. The fajitas were rather bland (maybe the Mexican-American version is different, because I ordered fajitas twice while in Mexico and both were bland as compared to those I buy in the US). My wife says her recommended shrimp dish was only "okay." The prices were comparable to US prices, even though we were in Mexico, where prices are usually better than at home. The food was plentiful, and neither of us had room for dessert. There are lots of restaurants in this area, and I would not place Javier's at the top of my list.
We are here because it was recommended to us and I am glad we came. We sat outside which got a little warm but otherwise it was perfect. Sitting by the water was perfect. We all had surf and turf and it was by far the best steak I have ever had. I would recommend this place and we will be back some day.
