My husband and I visited recently on our weekly date and the prime rib was amazing. The place is quaint. We seemed to be the only one but the booths were cozy ans we didn't mind. The place reminds me of a fancy restaurant in a historical town.. in positive ways. We were greeted by the chef I believe. He was so sweet and super kind. We ordered each a plate which came out to about $50 and it was absolutely divine. For... View all feedback.
What Ray B doesn't like about Drying Shed:
I've lived in San Jose my entire life, and probably been to this establishment handful of times. The food and service is definitely OK. However, there is an older blond Caucasian woman who tends bar on the weekends. She has the worst customer service and personality. Very rude, non-helpful and must've mistaken me for somebody else. During a stay for a week or so, solely for a standard Prime Rib. Each entry contains (if I know) salad, pages and bread. I went to Sunday night. Although the guests were so little, I love the atmosphere, except the room was a bit too dark for a person. Compared to several places in SJ and SF downtown, I would say I am back.
We were hoping for a good local place with a unique spin and we found it! Everything was just delicious!! The salad and lid of bread was fresh and the steak with the fancy garlic topping was out of this world. Thanks for a yummy date night!
Food was very good, service was excellent, price was reasonable and the atmosphere was old San Jose. It is a special place to dine
This was a nice little stop in for a nice steak dinner. We went on a Friday evening and didn't see too many people there, and for me the ambiance was lacking a little bit. The food though was very good and we enjoyed our time! The portion sizes were quite large so you definitely get your money's worth and the wine that we got was very tasty. It's also worth mentioning that the bread they provide is baked onsite and its very delicious. Great steak in a casual, old-timey setting.
Nothing to rave about. Inflexible on prime rib Tuesday. Customer does not come first. Prime rib is basic. Forgot to take pictures. Too hungry. One waitress. One bus person. Not very busy. Fries not crispy. Dinner rolls basic.
