The Banh mi sandwiches at this restaurant are made with Vietnamese French bread. We tried the #29 pork egg small #1 combo large. The small is $4 and the large is $10, and the large size is similar to a Subway sandwich. The ingredients were fresh, including cilantro and pickled vegetables. The bread was warm and crispy. I asked for recommendations and the staff seemed knowledgeable about popular choices. The restauran... View all feedback.
What Young Xie doesn't like about Banh Mi Oven Story Rd:
The restaurant's operating hours are listed as open until 9pm, so I decided to stop by for a sandwich. When I arrived at the door at 8:47, a young woman turned off the open sign and told me they were closed. I pointed to my watch and mentioned that it was not yet 9pm, but she walked away without acknowledging me. It is unlikely that I will return to this place in the future. View all feedback.
Our favorite sandwich place!!! Also found our kitten here. Video is of him right after we brought him home (8/27/20 , pics are recent. Thank you BMO staff for humoring us and helping us catch this little stray : he is the prince of the house! No guarantees that you'll find a kitten as precious, but the sandwiches are pretty excellent anyway (the BMO tofu is A+!
Went at 7:45pm, placed order, waited, and finally got our two sandwiches at 8:15pm. No banh mi is worth waiting 30min for. Wait time aside, the sandwich is a passable 6/10. The two places we usually go to down the street are both more authentic and more tasty than this. If your in Little Saigon, roll the dice with any other banh mi shop. We will not go back again.
It?s pretty good, but it could be better. The banh mi was stuffed with meat and all of the veggies, and everything tasted great! My issue lies in the bread. The bread felt a little stale to where it was no longer crunchy. It became chewy and doughy, so the bread could have been toasted before serving. They make fresh bread here, so it?s good bread, but it could have been warmed up before serving. I also got the fruit cup Che, and it was sweet and delicious. However, it didn?t come with all of the toppings that the menu stated for what I ordered.
Out of items and short staffed for a Saturday afternoon. Tried to order their advertised shrimp banh mi but was told it wasn?t available. They also didn?t have any egg rolls. It was only 1230pm! Milk tea had a sour taste, I threw it away. Pork banh mi was good. The banh mi place down the street is a lot better.
Pretty good variety of sandwiches to choose from. I got the buy 5, get one free deal. If you're lucky, it might still be around. One thing I noticed was my sandwiches didn't come with cilantro. A bit weird, but probably was just missed.
