I recently dined at a lovely Indian restaurant located in Santana Row. While it is on the pricier side, the food quality is excellent. We sampled the vegan samosas, lentil patties, and two vegan main dishes, all of which were superb. Despite not being a fan of okra, I was pleasantly surprised at how delicious it was. I highly recommend dining here! Our waiter was polite, accommodating, and well-versed in the vegan op... View all feedback.
What Imelda Brakus doesn't like about Amber Indian:
Four of us came on Friday night. The food, when finally arrived after a significant and noticeable delay, was delicious but somewhat cold. What kept us from hunger was the crispy bread, which was salty as hell. My favorite dishes were the Nimbu Chicken Apetizier I had with Naan. I also like the sauce that surrounds the Nutty Egg Plant dish. The rest of the stew dishes were too sharp at a point where it was hard to ta... View all feedback.
That is a very beautiful Indian restaurant. the hotel is located in santana row, it is quite expensive, but the quality of the food is good. we tried the vegan samosas, the linsenpatties and the two vegan main dishes- they were great! I am really not a fan of okra, but that was absolutely mouthwater! highly recommended! our waiter was very polite, courtesy and knowledgeable about the vegan options.
One of the servers knows that I am vegan and is always so friendly and accommodating. my partner ordered and appetizer that was not vegan and without asking the server, the kitchen staff had put the yogurt sauce on the side, instead of drizzled up. so we could share! the second time we went, the server brought me some vegan chips (which I did not ask) to snack while my partner ate their appetizers. super nice staff.
I was looking for a special birthday spot that is vegan and satisfied my meat-eating family - that was the perfect place! we ordered 5 dishes, of which 3 were vegan. everyone loved everything, although we all agreed that the cauliflower cashew was bezule by far the winner. the vegan channa masala dish and asparagus and potato peel were also quite good. I love that they all vegan dishes star, so it is super clear what my options are. the only bummer is that they do not offer vegan naan, just a whole weizen roti (which reminds me of a pita in other restaurants that I was offered simple naan without ghee. I'm coming back in a definitiw!
We go to amber indien at special occasions (due to expensive dishes), but when we do it, it is always great. they have a really good vegan selection (marked on the menu), which includes kartoffelsamosas and roti. my favorite entree by far is the cauliflower cashew bezule, which is vegan and so delicious. it is the type of dish that tastes as if it has milk in it, but it does not thanks to the magic of cashews. I would describe it as an Indian version of mac cheese when the mac's cauliflower and the cheese was cashew sauce. this is a great place to go when they are in santana row and want a fine culinary experience that everyone will love. the only large part of this restaurant is it directly around the corner of veggie grill, which means that I don't so likely to choose it, but at least eating is a nice change from the American comfort food at veggie grill.
Okish place for dinner, not to the brand for the place where it is. Drinks are not so great, Curries are decent. In addition, we wrapped a dirty fork and a knife in our napkin, completely unacceptable.
