Lucious broth soup and chicken. Fresh ingredients and a truly comforting meal. Had the San Franciscan with a side of ginger rice. Ordered for pickup and it was hot and ready in less than 10 minutes. Will definitely go back again. View all feedback.
What Rose L doesn't like about What The Cluck:
Pricey for very little food. It was around $16 to $17 dollars for very little food. In addition, my soup was not sealed properly so it spilled. The proportions were very little for the price and the rice was somewhat dry and the sauce did not go super well with the chicken. In addition, there were no utensils provided and there was no option to ask. I was in a rush when getting this food and was lucky there were uten... View all feedback.
Charging $18 for fried chicken, mildly ginger rice, RAW spinach and cucumbers is crazy to me. Food came out fast, service was good, and the restaurant had limited seating. The chicken katsu I got should be $12 MAX.
The chicken here is incredible. Authentic Taiwanese soul food. The soy paste sauce is the perfect blend of garlic and spice. I basically inhaled this meal. The chicken broth soup was the perfect side. The actual location is a bit small so seating might be difficult, and it's better for takeout.Great to stop by for a quick bite in the Haight. Highly recommend!
Mediocre as can be. Chicken was dry and bland. Rice was literally a blob. Being as that’s all they serve here there’s not much more to say other than the restaurant stunk of used cooking oil despite their front doors pried wide open. Not even that cheap considering the low quality.
I'm rating this a 4.7, however Google does not give a me this option I must choose 5, as it is obviously not a fine dining 4.7 is the highest I can rate this wonderful establishment.....its cleanliness is above expectations always. The service is absolutely fantastic, fast, quick. The food is honestly the best tasting and feeling food, for it's simplicity is actually wonderfully complex and delicious... Definitely the cleanest, freshest place on Haight st, upper or lower districts ...
Delicious chicken and rice. I got the classic. The rice was cooked perfectly and nicely seasoned. The rice wasn't overly sticky or undercooked. The chicken was moist. I would've liked the bone to be boned a bit better esparound the butt of the chicken. Overall I wish I got more food for $14. I was still a tad hungry after spending 13.5hrs at work.
