What User doesn't like about Samovar Tea Lounge Yerba Buena Gardens:
beautiful ambiente and service, but the day we went there, her vegan meat was not available and we ended up looking for what could be vegan from the menu instead of what we really wanted and a little expensive. I don't think we'll be back. View all feedback.
Samovar is an tea bar that sits on top of the modern cascading waterfall and park that is Yerba Buena Gardens. It looks like a glass house, with an outdoor patio, perfect for soaking in the sun, or warming up a gloomy San Francisco day with beautiful views of downtown. Drinking tea is a ritual, but even if you're not an avid tea drinker, you can come here to experience it. The menu truly takes tea and healthy organic food to a new level. The tea comes out in a tray with small stone kettle and Indonesian tea cups. I come here when I want time to slow down and do something good for myself. Healthy food options, and amazing tea experience. I always order the same thing: Lychee black tea with honey and lemon Brown Rice Bowl with Tofu Great place to soak in the sun and views of downtown.
May 8 Soft re opening review. Samovar is back! I've been missing their luxurious Masala chai all of COVID and I'm so happy they're reopen! The outdoor seating above Yerba Buena is beautiful with lots of open space. The menu is different though with a strong Mediterranean influence. Everything was delicious and fresh, but unfortunately the iconic congee is not yet available. Prices are still high, but you're paying for high quality ingredients and the views. Halloumi cheese hard to find halloumi done well in SF, and this dish definitely delivered! Served with a mint chutney that added a nice twist to this Mediterranean classic Homemade pita complimentary for soft opening! Puffed, light pita with lots of spices and olive oil. A sleeper hit Lamb salad lamb kebabs with lettuce, radish, cucumbers, and feta cheese. The lamb was tender and well flavored, and the salad was light and refreshing Chicken salad great salad, but the chicken was a bit dry. Would recommend the lamb over the chicken Masala chai ahh, it's been too long! Delicious as always. I was also pleasantly surprised that the iced version was not all diluted down
Duck sandwiches, the tea, the ambiance are forever imprinted in memory. It was a gem, hidden in the gardens. Come back!
Wonderful tea house in the top center of San Francisco's Yerba Buena's garden. The food is always exceptional and they have a wide variety of tea selections. A must visit for any tea aficionado. I try to visit every time I'm in the city. Due note they were closed for renovations during my latest visit on July 11th.
I finally made it over to Samovar after a million visits to seemingly all the other restaurants around it. I love how it 's sort of set off from the rest of Yerba Buena inside of a largely glassy building. It 's really gorgeous on a sunny day. I inhaled the Butternut Squash Potsticker Dumplings, which one of my colleagues had been raving about. The Beyond Bhakti Burger...nom nom nom! I 'm a huge fan of the Beyond and Impossible burger franchisees, and EVERYTHING about this burger was so fresh, including the guac. The only bad thing is that it was so tall that I had to strategically cut the burger to eat it. Haha But the best part of any tea lounge is the tea, and I appreciated that the staff poured it properly and more or less followed the ritual that you 'd expect. I 'll definitely be back here since I 'm always in this area when I 'm in SF for business.
