I have always enjoyed dining at Lers Ros when it was on Larkin Street. I fondly recall the impressive selection and quality of the dishes. However, during our recent visit, it felt like I either forgot just how exceptional it was before the pandemic or Lers Ros has truly elevated itself to a whole new level, surpassing any other Thai restaurant in San Francisco. The variety, quality, and generous portions of the dess... View all feedback.
What Shawn Oisin Freeman doesn't like about Lers Ros 16th Street:
I spent $79 on food, and the only dish that was decent was the noodle dish. I ordered duck curry but received just a small piece of meat, a tiny bone, and mostly skin. Sounds like a great deal, especially at San Francisco prices, right? The Tom Yum was excessively salty and inedible. If you can't provide quality food at your high prices, then you shouldn't be serving anyone. I've attached a close-up photo of my lunch... View all feedback.

My meal arrived over an hour late, was ice-cold, and caused those who ate it to feel unwell.
I enjoy Lers Ros, but this location isn't as good as the one on Larkin. The fish cake wasn't as plump and juicy, and the red curry contained chicken breast that was tasteless and tough. It seems like they prepare the sauce first and then cook the protein in it afterward, which makes it bland. Despite that, we keep returning.
The pad thai texture was off today. Very soggy almost gummy
Food was delicious, for the few that it came for. That's about as far as a positive review that can be given, unfortunately. Entire tables came and went without them serving ours. The kitchen sent out dishes at random, which meant half the table waited long enough, being polite, until their dishes were cold. The other half just had nothing, with no sign of their orders showing up. It took asking 3 different people multiple times to get a glass of water, which meant it took about 20mins to get it. Turns out they completely lost our orders, for half a table of 10+ people. This was only acknowledged after stopping 2 more staff to ask how it was possible for us to be here for over two hours without being served. It was busy, but certainly not over capacity. To add insult to injury, they got the re-order wrong as well. I had this place on my to go list for some time, and I cannot overstate how disappointed we were, collectively, with the mismanaged kitchen and inconsistent service. I expected better...
