This is a lovely little neighborhood restaurant. We were there on a Friday night and there was only one server so you had to flag him down if you needed anything, but he was friendly and fairly efficient. The tables were awfully close together, but it was fine. The food was varied and pretty good. The best thing about this place is that the prices are incredibly reasonable. We were also able to easily find street par... View all feedback.
What NightOut doesn't like about Alamo Square Seafood Grill:

Service was very slow, waited 50 minutes for the order to arrive. Water was refreshed only when we were about to pay the bill. Energetic atmosphere with plenty of local neighbors (assumption of course) and overall lively, but the acoustic was so that the sound was bouncing off the walls to the point of being unpleasant. Given that we ordered 3 different dinner entrees and paid less than 90 dollars it was overall 3stars but the experience was not very pleasant.
After our delicious dinner we left our box at the table and the kind man waiting on us literally brought the box outside to our car at the intersection. I was amazed!
Food was excellent, service pretty slow. Verrrrry long delay between appetizers and entrees, but to their credit were perfectly cooked. Had grilled salmon, calamari appetizer, and also a salad on the specials menu, and you probably would be in good shape ordering just about anything here.
Nice environment, recreates well the atmosphere of a French bistrot. Sadly food and service did not quite match. Food was OK but unexciting: grilled snapper was pretty bland, duck confit correct, risotto fairly nice tarte tatin by far the best dish of the evening. Service professional but quite cold. $210 (including the obligatory and quite ridiculous 20% tip) for three starters, three mains, one dessert and a bottle of wine probably average for SF, but would be exorbitant in a similar place in London (or Paris or anywhere else outside the US).
Amazing local neighborhood dining experience. Zach is extremely nice and professional and helps me practice my French when we go. They have special deals which I'll let you find on your own when you go. Definitely worth the visit every time, highly recommend.
