The Public Izakaya - San Francisc

I work a few buildings away and as a bar we always tell people to go here as well as frequent the place ourselves, food is really good. I went there last night with my husband and ordered our food and for some unknown reason there was an issue with his cards at payment, apple pay ended up working just fine and tipped in cash but the server (guy with glasses) thought it was okay to become very rude and start yelling at us; not sure if he thought we weren't going to pay or just had no patience in the situation but I don't think I'll be going there again. Last time we even told them they gave us the wrong check which was much less because we knew we would be back and thought it was important to be honest. But any patron should not be treated like that. Sucks cuz the food is good but service makes the experience.

Food took an hour and was nothing special, service staff forgot part of our order and then when we asked for it again, they took an additional 45 minutes to bring a roll. There are much better options in the area

This is a dependable place and one of the only sushi choices open late. It is typically a bit chaotic, but the food is good. Fried chicken appetizer is fantastic!

Hands down the best spot in the city for a great dinner from date night to a big group. Lovely atmosphere, always vibey, diverse playlist, all the Japanese hits on one menu. If you’re looking for a fun sushi dish don’t skip the Truffle Hamachi Carpaccio. Unbeatable Happy Hour menu from 5 6pm 10 11pm. Excellent service is the standard, Andy’s the best!

This place is amazing, really friendly and efficient staff, great atmosphere, delicious food. You have to try the lychee beer
