Restaurante La Chimenea

Convenient restaurant with lovely decor and cloth napkins, unlike so many others. Food was good but not great, probably because we had pizza. Aztec soup was good as were the jamaica drinks.

El servicio es bueno, aunque sería de gran ayuda contar con una anfitriona que te reciba al entrar al restaurante. Los camareros son amables y atentos. La comida tiene buen sabor, aunque las porciones pueden ser un poco pequeñas.

Un buffet completo con opciones variadas, a un precio muy accesible. Creo que el pan es uno de sus puntos fuertes, pero la atención y la calidad de las frutas son un poco débiles. Recomiendo este lugar como una opción para un desayuno completo, solo hay que tener en cuenta que está fuera del centro de la ciudad.

We live only 4 blocks from this very attractive hotel Villa Mercedes and we didn't know that there is a restaurant inside but a friend who works there told us about the breakfast buffet. The restaurant is off the lobby so go to the parking lot and into the lobby (could use some more signs for directions). I loved the variety of food--scrambled eggs, fried platanos, yogurt, fruits, breads, and unusual for an American eater--green beans with bacon, chicken enchiladas with green sauce, stuffed squash. For the local residents the price is 120 pesos (less than hotel guests). It opens at 7 am and closes at noon. Can't wait to go again!
