We found the restaurant on a quiet side street a bit aways from the main tourist areas, and as it was about to rain the street sandwich board with the restaurant name was not out. We entered just as a major rainstorm started, and took one of only five tables available. I do not mean that the other tables were taken, there are only five tables in total. We knew we were in for a special delicious meal when the owner came to greet us and we learned she is 100% Thai. In fact, she mentioned she is the only Thai person in San Christobal, so I am not sure who is cooking at the 'other Thai restaurant ', but clearly they are not from Thailand. We discussed our meal choices, and the difficulty of getting certain ingredients such as kaffir lime leaf and gaglong. She imports these as they are not available. We started with the Tom Yum soup, which was super flavorful and full of shrimp and mushrooms. Spring Rolls were next, fresh and crisp with the flavors of the garden. Followed up with a Beef Larb, which came out smelling of fresh roasted ground rice; a definiative sign this woman knows and practices Authentic Thai recipes. Served with sticky rice in the traditional manner. Green curry was our last and final dish to complete our amazing meal. I highly recommend Comida Thai
