Compared to other restaurants on Tenerife, this restaurant was the worst.
We ended up here after a long hike purely because we were exhausted and needed some food before continuing our journey. The place looks and feels like a local village restaurant. There was no ventilation and the place reeked of rabbit meat. After trying to communicate with our non English speaking staff for a good few minutes, we went for the pork chops. They arrived soon after, and they were completely undercooked to the point that the meat in the middle was still very red. I actually wondered myself if they gave us veal due to the language barriers, as pork should not be cooked this way but no, it was pork. Juicy, red, probably fried straight from the freezer, pork. We asked the waiter to take it back and cook it a bit a more for us, and he kindly agreed. it came back ‘ok’. It was done, but it didn’t taste fresh, or like pork steak at all. To me, it tasted a bit like liver. Needless to say, neither me nor my partner finished our dishes. The reason I’m not giving this restaurant 1 star is because the fries that accompanied the pork were quite nice, and the waiter was friendly and helpful communicating through hand gestures coupled with a bit of french and spanish was quite entertaining.
We ate there after hiking in the spectacular Anaga mountains. Friendly staff, local flavours, good service, perfect location! we enjoyed it!
We really enjoyed the meal after a morning of hiking. We strongly recommend the “papas bravas” and the steak. They had homemade wine and it was delicious.
